Same-Sex Crush

What would you do if someone of the same sex told you s/he had a crush on you?

Would your response be different if the person were a transie?

If you’re gay, how do you handle opposite-sex crushes? How is your response received?

Just wondering.

The Best Things

I’m a little ticked because I wrote this once and closed the window without posting it. Anyway. Let me put on my smiley face and do it again. :)

I’ve heard it said that the best things in life are free. In today’s economy, I seriously doubt that. I’m going to share with you my list of the best things, and you can tell me whether or not you think they’re free. I’ll explain my rationale as I respond to your comments.

1. love
2. air
3. beaches
4. sunsets
5. water
6. shrimp and grits
7. strawberries
8. intimacy
9. sex
10. family

I’m surprised I remembered everything on my list!! I say that at least 9 out of 10 on the list aren’t free, and I can’t wait to tell you why. You name some of your best things, and I bet you I can tell you why they aren’t free either.

Too Tired

My good people,

I wore myself out with traveling yesterday, so I am too tired to think today. You have my promise of a swift return to consciousness bright and early tomorrow morning. I’m sure some comedy will occur before then.

One quick thing:
My neighbor and I went to Home Depot to look at some paint that was advertised on sale. They lied.

My neighbor asked the attendant to show her what was really on sale.

He said, Close your eyes. What do you see?

I.am.through.

For Dragonflysoul–About ME

These are random facts about me. I stole Dfly’s random facts and told her I’d show her how much we have in common. Her list was so long I’ve deleted some of it, but below is what made the cut. My answers are in bold. I’ll post something else later, maybe. Enjoy esp. if you actually read all of this)! Feel free to post at least one random fact about yourself.

i’m 5′4″ tall I’m 5′5″ tall.
*i’m the youngest of all the sibs - i have one bio sister, 3 stepbros and a stepsis on my mom’s side, and one stepbro on my dad’s side. I was raised as an only child, but I have 3 brothers by my dad that I met when I was old enough to understand.
*i have dimples I have dimples, both on on cheek.
*i have 3 tattoos No tattoos.
*i have six ear piercings (3 in each ear) 5 ear piercings and one elsewhere that I’m closing.
*i didn’t get my driver’s license until i was 22 Driving since I was 12 and licensed at 16,
*i put a huge dent in my brand new car 3 weeks after i drove it off the lot (stupid pole in a stupid too-small bank stupid drive-thru lane) My early start would account for all of the accident I’ve had since 16 that are too many to name.
*when i was a little girl, i used to wrap a scarf around my head and pretend i was a nun. I did the same and pretended to be Rapunzel or Cinderella.
*i also used to dress up in my mom’s clothes and heels, sit on the couch with my “baby” and
pretend i was waiting for a bus (don’t ask…i was, am, and always will be a little “special”) I did the dress up but not the waiting for the bus. Yep, you’re special Dfly.
*when i was in elementary school, i had a crush on an older boy (2 grades older than me, i think), and i ran up to him and kissed him one day. my sister told my parents - blabbermouth.
*i first really kissed a boy when i was in the sixth grade, in a movie theater. i had no idea what i was doing, but i was trying to mimic what i had seen on tv. My first kiss was in 6th grade too. My mom’s friend’s son tried to swab my tonsils with his tongue while we were on a playdate to watch the Lakers. He was in the 5th grade!! I was still playing with dolls. Fast tailed boys, hmph! ;)
*i’m a singer (and used to be really involved in singing activities) I am an excellent shower singer. I’m a former church choir member. Does that count?
*i once aspired to learn acoustic guitar. that guitar now only serves to look very cute leaning against my bedroom wall, collecting dust. one day, i will learn…one day. I finally broke down and gave my dust collecting acoustic to my sis last year. I also have two violins, a clarinet, a piano, and a keyboard in my meager collection of lessons set aside.
*i inherited my dad’s stubbornness Me, too.
*i’ve never in my life been in a physical fight I was in two growing up. Lost one to a girl in 6th grade and won the other against a boy in 9th grade. I just had to do it, or at least that’s what I told my parents.
*i wore two different dresses my prom night (long story)I had a different dress for the two years that I went, but my senior year I insisted on going as Jessica Rabbit, right down to the gloves, and what a beautiful Ms. Rabbit I was. :)
*i wear contacts and am blind as a bat without them I just started wearing my contacts on a regular basis. I usually wear my glasses, and I don’t have the greatest vision without them either.
*i will never get laser eye surgery - “laser” and “eye” should not be in the same sentence You know, I’ve often felt the same.
*i’ve never ever had lobster I have and it tastes like a jumbo meatier shrimp that’s not as fishy as the shrimp or a crab. I’m sure that’s a bad description.
*i’ve always hated fish and only ate it once or twice as a kid I hated fish as a kid because I didn’t like bones; now, I’m a pescaterian. Go figure.
*i’ve also always hated milk and refused to drink it or put it in cereal as a kid (yeah, i ate dry
cereal, in a bowl, with a spoon, lol…told you i was “special”) I loved milk as a kid. I guess that’s why I can’t digest it now, but on my cereal I used to insist on having water. Yeah, you’re not the only special one.
*i haven’t eaten beef or pork since i was in high school Me, not since college I believe.
*i think i was always destined to be a vegan And me, a pescatarian and partial vegan (?)
*i’ve been vegan for 7 years
I’ve been off and on with poultry for years now, but I’m finally done with it. I’m fish only, and I LOVE vegan cuisine.
*but then again, i also hated vegetables as a kid, so go figure that one out Me, too. I would only eat string beans as a vegetable, and for a while, the only “food” I would eat was any kind of bread.
*i have only been in 3 real relationships (”real” as in “love”) I think I’ve only been in two then if love is a requisite
*i don’t really have many “friends”, just a lot of “people” in my life - i don’t really feel that close
to most of them I am blessed to have great quality friends that I can fit on my hands, so I don’t worry too much about the quantity.
*i LOVE rollercoasters!!!!!!!!!!! can’t wait for summer!!! They horrify me. Nope, can’t do them.
*i like white wine I’m not too big on wine, but I go with red when the occasion is fitting.
*i love cotton candy, especially purple I like the pink.
*purple and green are my favorite colors I love lavender and sage together, and I love shades of blue. Sapphire girl I am!
*i have curly hair Hmm…I guess my natural hair qualifies as curly. I have big hair.
*i used to straighten/relax my hair but went natural 5 years ago I did this about 15 years ago.
*3 days before college graduation, i stood in front of my dorm bathroom mirror and cut all my
hair off. it was reaaaaaally short. i loved it. I had to cut the first patch to convince my stylist that I was serious, and I left out with a cute little temple fade.
*sometimes i think about doing that again I do it every 4 or 5 years. This year I’m trying to resist the urge, but I think as a compromise I just may resort to a bob instead of another buzz cut.
*i have awful pollen allergies. i think satan invented pollen (just kidding) You don’t have to be kidding. We just ned more bees. Pollen allergies SUCK!!!
*i had asthma as a kid - i guess i outgrew it because the symptoms eventually went away I kept bronchitis in undergrad but only had sinus allergies/rhinitis growing up.
*i hardly ever get colds - maybe once every few years, if that. i really think it’s the vegan thing. I get fewer since I changed my diet because I kept a cold or allergy throughout my childhood.
*i am ALWAYS cold, and i have a heater under my desk. and i crank my heat at home on full blast every day. i’m going to be sad when they turn it off for the summer :-( I, too, get cold a lot, but I prefer it to being hot, so I suffer.
*i’m also typically iron-deficient. you know things are bleak when the Red Cross rejects your blood…TWICE. picky little organization, aren’t they… They sure are picky. I’ve shared this experience. I should say I used to get cold a lot because I won’t be anemic anymore since the surgery.
*i have yet to find the perfect bra - none of them ever seem to fit me right I’ve got bras in every size imaginable because I get fitted every season, and our bodies fluctuate. Well, at least mine does. Glad it’s going down at present.
*heels make me feel so feminine Me, too, and I’m just about to start wearing them again. Yippeee!!
*the only time i’ve ever been out of the country was a trip to Toronto years ago I’ve traveled quite a bit internationally but still haven’t been to the West Coast. How backwards is that?
*i LOVED Toronto and would so live there I would love to live in Jamaica, and not because of the touristy stuff. When I visit, I have more interest in the real people. So, Jamaica would be my home. I almost moved there until my dad got sick.
*i swim 2-3 days a week, on a good week I grew up with an ocean in the back door and can’t swim a lick.
*this was not a good week, lol Aaaaaaah, it was alreat (great). I’m here.
*when i laugh, i laugh LOUDLY, like screaming laughing. that’s the most fun kind. Oh my goodness!! Why did my nosey neighbor ask me why I laugh so loud? I was like, mind your business you dirty old man. Stop listening.
*i talk to strangers Sometimes, not often.
*i still have my childhood/teenage diary. i’m amazed at the stuff i used to write. Ditto. And I still journal. Someone will get an eyeful one day.
*i attempted to attempt suicide twice as a teenager - meaning, i made “arrangements” but i was
too scared and could never go through with the actual attempt. I contemplated it once and failed. I figured I wasn’t cut out for crazy.
*i have never told anyone that before Hmm…I’ve told very few people that. Shhhh.
*i first started bulimic tendencies when i was in high school Mmmm…mine were more anexoric and I was a young adult. That mess is for the birds (or cows if you’re bulimic. .Anyway.)
*the first time i ever got drunk i was a junior in HS Same here. I stumbled in slushed and my mom didn’t even notice. I think I did it at first for her attention.
*i was really involved in high school (community service, clubs/organizations, etc). i did nothing constructive in college (except work) Ditto.

*i rededicated my life to Him in 2003. to me, that was the beginning of our true relationship. Senior year in high school for me.
*i got for real baptized (the first time was when i was a wee youngin’, and didn’t count) in 2006. i cried and cried. that was a great day. i want to do it again :-) I got baptized at 12, and if God doesn’t mind, I won’t do it again.
*i believe that Mocha Fudge Soy Dream is the greatest dessert ever on the planet. take that, Breyers! I’ve never tried this flavor. I’ll put it on my list.
*i love coffee but can’t drink it much because my body doesn’t tolerate caffeine well - my heart speeds and my hands shake I don’t like caffeine, so I avoid coffee, black tea, and sodas.

*i am terrified of giving birth, and watching “Deliver Me” doesn’t help. remind me to give Eve a good SLAP talking-to when i see her in Heaven. That’s one reason why I never wanted to do natural.
*i was born 2 weeks early, via C-Section. I came screaming through a canal.
*i may be biased, but i think my mommy’s the best one anywhere.
*i hope my kids say the same thing about me some day :-) Ditto.
*i love to be barefoot. i am not one of those women who loves shoes. i only wear them because people say “no shoes, no shirt, no service.” plus, gross people spit on the sidewalks, so shoes come in handy. oh yeah, and i’ve stepped on glass before. it hurts. a lot. so yeah, shoes are useful i guess… I like being barefoot in the grass, sand, or cool Southern dirt (no clay). I don’t do it too much anymore because of all the strange parasites one can get on her feet.
*i love a good museum. They’re alright. I just hate when guys think, “Oh, she’s smart. I’ll take her to the museum,” and never go beyond that. There’s other stuff out there fellas!
*i love a good amusement park. my perfect guy will take me to an amusement park on one of our first dates. he better like rollercoasters or else… No, ma’am.
*i love the games Phase 10 and Scattergories I pretty much love all board games.
*i will win HANDS DOWN in a “Who’s the Biggest Procrastinator In the Universe?” contest. don’t even try to compete. I don’t know. I’m pretty sure I can compete for Heavyweight Champion of the World although I’d gladly hand over my title.

i’m done. Me, too!

Upgrade Me!

This place needed a change. The puppy is gone, so no longer is there a need for the puppy pages over here. For me, life is all about moving on and staying in constant motion.

So, sit a spell, pull up a chair, and enjoy the peach iced tea over there on the tray on the verandah. We like it nice and cozy around here, and if you stay long enough, I may even whip up some biscuits and serve ‘em to you hot with some honey and syrup.

I’m going to be spending a lot more time at home here, so feel free to join me anytime to enjoy the Southern comfort I’ll be serving. Your place is set, so you sit down at the table when you hear the bell, and I believe we’ll do just fine around here.

Sometimes you have to upgrade your own self!!
UPgrade you!!

Lots of love to you,
-Me
