Beta-Carotene

I just ran across a headline that said that beta-carotene (bc) could help protect the brain against aging. Why are people treating aging like a disease instead of a natural part of life? Do they really think that there’s a chance that by manipulatives and sheer will alone they can beat death? Whatever happened to “face your fears”? Maybe it’s just me, but our nip-tuck, supplement, herb me a new life culture is what’s actually sick. Am I anti-health? Absolutely not. Am I anti-ocd about aging? Absolutely yes. And if I didn’t have so much work to do, I’d go on some more. In fact, if I get some time (ha!), I will come back and go on some more.

Peace.

  1. I don’t think it’s necessarily about cheating death but increasing the quality of life. It can’t be denied that aging does wear on the body. If there’s a way to stop or reverse the effects of aging, why not go for it?

Point taken. However, as a woman, I am looking forward to embracing my body’s changes. I want to age gracefully like the other women in my family who have taken care of themselves. I have grands in their 90s who are still active without the aid of every latest fad. My grandma on the other hand has a poor quality of life because she has drank everyday for as long as I can remember. Also, to me, nothing is more attractive in a man than one who ages well and continues to be active despite his age. Aging naturally doesn’t necessarily lead to a poor quality of life.
